Endurance 201 Clinic: Horse Camping & High Country Training Ride -- CANCELED

This 201 clinic will be a great opportunity for riders to practice overnight camping with their horse, and get ideas about practical set-ups for horse camping. Saturday morning will be a presentation on horse camping basics -- necessities to pack, safety considerations, containment ideas, etc -- and then Saturday afternoon will offer attendees the chance to head out and explore some of the trails out from base camp (a variety of distances will be available). Riders can ride solo, pair off, or experienced riders will be available for anyone who would like to ride with a mentor.

Saturday evening will have a potluck dinner (and campfire/fire pit, weather and fire restrictions permitting), and then Sunday morning, riders will have a chance to hit the trails again if they wish.

For the clinic presentation of horse camping on Saturday morning, come prepared to share some of your favorite tips, tricks, and "life hacks" for horse camping! This is a great opportunity for people to set up their rigs and have a chance to walk around and explore other's set-ups and get some ideas for their own rigs, outside of the often-tight time constraints of a ride weekend.

If you are planning to ride/trailer in, REGISTRATION IS REQUIRED. Parking space is tight, and sign-ups are limited due to space constraints so we will only be taking the first 15 sign-ups. If you would like to attend to audit/hang out in camp with no horse/trailer, you do not need to sign up.

Housekeeping Items:

- Basecamp is a DRY CAMP. Bring all the water you will need for the weekend for your horse, as well as all of your own camping amenities. No water, no power, no hookups, etc.
- The mountains are already experiencing afternoon monsoons/storms -- it would be a good idea to bring a waterproof blanket/sheet for your horse.
- There are some rocky portions of footing nearby -- boots or shoes highly recommended.
- Camp opens up at noon on Friday, and you are welcome to stay until Sunday afternoon.
- Space is extremely limited and signups will be limited to 15 people. Registration is REQUIRED if you are riding/bringing a trailer.
- No fee for members; $10 fee for guests/non-members.
